Mammoth Cave National Park
Mammoth Cave

Mammoth Cave National Park is the number one tourist attraction in the Commonwealth of Kentucky offering the longest cave in the world!  With over 350 known miles of cave passageways, Mammoth Cave deserves its name.

Even though Mammoth Cave is the Park’s most renowned feature, the Park also includes over 52,000 acres of beautiful hills, bluffs and forests.  Ranger-led activities are offered seasonally and include nature walks, campfire programs, slide show presentations, and of course, cave tours are offered year-round.

The Park was designated a World Heritage Site in 1981 and became the core area of an International Biosphere Reserve in 1990.  The Park merits this extra protection and special Mammoth Cavestatus because of its unique features both above and below ground.

There are 70 miles of trails for hiking and horse-back riding.   Mammoth Cave is also one of the few National Parks with over 30 miles of scenic, meandering rivers running through it, offering two working ferries, a riverboat ride and year-round canoeing, boating and fishing opportunities.

Open year round except Christmas.
